DRONE footage shows progress being made at the site of a major town centre development.

The former Woolworths, Megavalue, Poundland, and Sigma Aquatics stores on Worcester Street, Kidderminster, have been bulldozed to make way for a new park in the town centre.

The Kidderminster Drone Facebook page has been filming the progress of the work, sharing the latest bird's eye shots from the construction site.

The proposed public open space will feature sloping grass terraces, trees, planting, seating, walls and new lighting.

A children's play area and a pavilion building, planned to be used for a café, are also set to be built.

North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration submitted a planning application back in August 2023. Funding for the project is being provided by the government's Future High Streets Fund (FHSF).

Wyre Forest District Council's planning committee agreed to approve the proposal at a meeting in December.
