A former Premier League manager has given aspiring students some advice for both football and studying at a recent college open evening.

Current Kidderminster Harriers manager Phil Brown, best known for his top flight tenure with Hull City, attended Kidderminster College’s open evening on Monday (February 19).

Brown, a former Premier League manager of the month, joined the struggling Harriers at the start of the year.

Under his stewardship the club has leapt off the bottom of the National League, winning five games out of their last six.

During the visit Brown offered advice to students who are interested in playing football at the Centre of Sporting Excellence, which the college works in collaboration with Harriers to run.

He praised the college as an excellent destination for study, lauding the variety of available courses and the diligent staff who provide good opportunities for students within the community.

College principal, Cat Lewis, said: "I was absolutely delighted to welcome such an esteemed and experienced football manager in Phil Brown to Kidderminster College this evening.

"Being able to work together to champion skills development and nurture future sporting talent in the region is exciting and marks a pivotal moment in our strategic partnership with Kidderminster Harriers FC".
