A KIDDERMINSTER curry house has received an apology following a 'dine and dash' incident.

Sher-E-Punjab, on George Street, was left out of pocket after two diners allegedly left without paying for their meal last month.

The popular Indian restaurant took to Facebook and made a public post asking the women to return and pay their bill of £44.75.

The Indian restaurant said they had given them a "great service" on the evening. They said they walked out believing they were going for a smoke.

They said: "We wished to think it was an accident but unfortunately it was deliberate".

"However, they are unaware that our restaurant is fully CCTV secured which also captured their act on that particular evening.

"We have the clear footage of them from the moment they entered until the moment they had left".

They requested in the post that they return to the restaurant to pay the bill as it was "disrespectful" to staff.

They added: "If you are ashamed to come down and face us then you can just post £44.75 through our letterbox".

Now, the incident, which happened on Sunday, November 26, has been resolved following the public appeal.

In an update, the restaurant said the message reached the individuals.

The restaurant added: "A member of their family came down to settle the bill with an apology.

"As we addressed before it wasn’t just about the money, it was mainly for the respect towards our hard-working staff that we had to share the incident with you all lovely people".

They thanked their customers for the "love and support" shown to the business over the years.
