A PROLIFIC thief has been jailed after stealing thousands of pounds worth of items in a Kidderminster shoplifting spree.
Ian Rollinson stole large amounts of goods from shops in the town, including bottles of booze, chocolates, protein bars, t-shirts, painkillers and more than 50 packs of condoms.
Rollinson, of no fixed abode, also stole marinades and sauces, tins of Spam, tuna and corned beef, and women’s gilets.
He was charged with 14 counts of theft, after targeting Tesco Express on Comberton Hill, the Tesco Superstore on Castle Road, and Mountain Warehouse in Kidderminster.
In total, the 30-year-old stole £2865.01 worth of items between April and June this year.
He also pleaded guilty to assault by beating when he appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 5.
Rollinson was jailed for 22 weeks, due to his “ flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
He was also ordered to pay £50 in compensation for the assault charge.
Rollinson’s guilty pleas were considered when he was sentenced.
